The Search for the Perfect Fabric: Motchluxe™

Finding the right fabric for Motch wasn’t just about making something soft and stretchy. It was about creating the perfect balance—a fabric that could keep up with both moms and little ones, holding its shape, staying vibrant, and lasting through real life. And it took us almost two years to get it exactly right.

The Challenge: Stretch, Structure, and Durability

Finding the Right Balance

When we started this process, we knew what we didn’t want. We didn’t want fabric that was so stretchy it lost its shape, going limp and baggy after a few hours of wear. But we also didn’t want something too rigid or stiff—comfort mattered just as much as longevity. It had to stretch enough to be forgiving for moms and to grow with little ones, but still snap back to look fresh and polished wear after wear.

We also wanted it to be thick enough to feel substantial. Thin, flimsy fabric that clings to every line or becomes see-through wasn’t an option. At the same time, we needed it to be soft and breathable, especially since it would be worn by both moms and babies. That’s a tall order for a single fabric.

Putting It to the Test

Real-Life Wear Testing

We didn’t just pick a swatch and call it a day. We probably felt hundreds of fabric samples, narrowing them down based on feel, stretch, and durability. But the real test? Actually wearing them.

We had samples made into shirts, and Aria and I wore them daily—putting them through real-life conditions. We washed them constantly, checking for pilling, fading, and whether they lost their shape over time. We wanted to see if they held up not just in the short term, but after months of real wear. Some fabrics didn’t make the cut. If Aria found a seam irritating, if a fabric made her too hot, or if she wanted to take it off within a few hours, we knew it wasn’t the right choice.

The Details Matter

Color & Fabric Weave

Beyond wear testing, we even examined the weave under magnification. We found that when fibers were woven too tightly, the fabric lost its natural stretch. But when they were too loose, it didn’t hold its shape. We worked with our manufacturer to dictate exactly how tightly the threads should be woven—so that the fabric stretched, recovered, and lasted.

Color was another priority. Since matching is at the core of what we do, the fabric needed to keep its vibrancy. We didn’t want colors that faded after a few washes or pieces that stopped matching over time. Every shade had to stay rich and consistent.

The Result: Motchluxe™

After nearly two years of testing, we finally found the perfect balance: Motchluxe™ fabric. It’s stretchy yet structured, soft yet durable, thick but breathable. It moves with you, feels amazing against the skin, and holds up through every wash, wear, and memory made.

And most importantly? It’s a fabric Aria never wanted to take off.

Whether you’re wearing it for matching family outfits, mommy and me bodysuits, or just everyday comfort, Motchluxe™ was made to look and feel incredible—no matter how many times you wear it.
